The Pete Dye Team Challenge
Pete Dye is widely regarded as the most influential golf course architect of the last five decades. All of his course designs throughout his career have been unique and challenging and always unmistakably Pete Dye! In 2005, Mr. Dye became the sixth recipient of the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2008, he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame for his lifetime achievement of designing and constructing innovative and environmentally friendly golf courses.
The beautiful and challenging par 72 championship course at The Gasparilla Inn & Club is a Pete Dye masterpiece perched along Charlotte Harbor. Completely renovated in 2004, it is an island course on its own private island...simply one of a kind!
In honor of Pete Dye, The Inn will host the Pete Dye Team Challenge, a professional/amateur golf tournament, on select dates throughout the 2011-2012 seasons.
